JAKE’S “YAPPY HOUR”
Eight of us went to “Canines-n-Cocktails” at the Indigo Hotel in downtown San Diego last night. Two of us were dogs, my friend Riley and me. It was in honor of ME. Wow was it fun. There were at least one hundred people there and everyone had a dog with them. There were several “Assistance Dogs” there. Remember I used to have a job like that too. I think there was every kind of dog made. Some were very big and some were very small. Our friend was taken in by a tiny Chihuahua. She carried him around for a long time. I thought she might take him home. There were several dogs there looking for homes. The music was wonderful. There was a long shallow pool also. Several dogs got overheated and decided to take a stroll in the water. I just roamed the whole area and talked to or sniffed almost every dog there. It was amazing there were no arguments or disagreements. One very large German Shepherd was very vocal. He was an assistance dog for a lady in a wheel chair. She was taking a lot of photos and he was barking so people would get out of her way as she moved through the crowd. He was quite handsome!
Before we went to the “Yappy Hour” we went to my friend Riley’s condo on the 20th floor. That was fun too. We had to go up 20 floors in an elevator. I don’t know if I have been in an elevator before but I sat very politely all the way up. When we got there we could not believe the view. It is spectacular. There is a large balcony that overlooks Pet Co Park, the convention center, the Coronado bridge and all of Coronado and off in the distance the Coronado Islands. Also, you could see Mexico and from one end of the deck you could look back to the Mountains. It was quite something. The best part was that Riley had a whole basket of Toys. I just helped myself and carried around a large stuffed bone most of the evening. Riley’s mom threw the ball for us in the hall way. What a fun place to visit.
I must have had a great time because boy am I tired today. I can’t seem to stay awake. I am anxious to go to the next “Yappy Hour” and see all my new friends.
I want to thank Gary at The City Dog, The Hotel Indigo, Lotus 9 Custom dog collars, The Honest Kitchen and all the other generous contributors. I am adding some photos and videos from last night.
